Fattoria Corzano e Paterno

Fattoria Corzano e Paterno is a two hundred hectare farm owned and operated by the Gelpke and Goldschmidt families, founded by the Swiss architect Wendelin Gelpke. The farm, situated in San Casciano Val di Pesa, roughly halfway between Florence and Siena, is dedicated to the production of the finest quality wine, olive oil and sheep cheeses.

Wine

Grapes varieties run from the usual Chianti selection of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia and Trebbiano to the foreign varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay.

Cheese

The cheese from Fattoria Corzano e Paterno has been produced by hand with traditional methods since 1992 using exclusively the milk from the farm’s Sardinian sheep.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

About 4000 olive trees are cultivated main varieties being Moraiolo, Frantoio Leccino and Pendolino

Guest Houses

Set in the heart of Chianti near the main road from Florence to Siena. The historic Villa Paterno, acquired from the Machiavelli family, together with the farm houses on the property, have been restored with great care to their original form.

Tastings are held on the courtyard in front of the shop overlooking the hills or in tasting rooms which are incorporated into Corzano’s ancient walls.
